Liveliness is what I first noticed about Parkland on the Glen. As I entered the bistro area of the building, a group of residents called the Helping Hands were putting together a September newsletter while chatting over coffee and cookies. I got the sense that this was the type of community where everyone knew each other’s names, and it wasn’t hard to find your groove.
Lifestyle consultant Grace Miksa, who has been with Parkland on the Glen since it first opened 12 years ago, says that her favourite part of her job is “meeting all the different people and helping them along with their next phase of life.” She spoke to me about the vibrancy of the community and how she feels honoured to be a part of it, “I just want our residents to feel like after all their years of taking care of others, they can finally live their best, worry-free lives.”
