There are many highlights to choose from, but some standout features I saw during my tour at Delmanor Northtown were their beautiful outdoor terraces. The Summit Rooftop Terrace offers some lovely views of Toronto. It has an urban vegetable garden that residents can tend to and even a putting green! The 2nd-floor Garden Terrace is a hub for social activities, a place where residents can sit and read, enjoy a seasonal BBQ or play shuffleboard.
Other notable amenities include the Gibson Pub with a beautiful billiards table, a cozy library that doubles as a computer lounge, Newton Theatre/Chapel for engaging lectures, movie screenings, religious services and more. There is also a relaxing Serenity Spa for residents to indulge themselves and a Hair Salon with aesthetician services.

The LivingWell TM program, exclusive to all Delmanor locations, pairs its residents with certified fitness coaches. Delmanor Northtown’s coach is Sue, who specializes in exercise classes, wellness education and one-on-one coaching tailored to seniors. She offers group fitness classes, individual training, private rehabilitation, cogni-fit programs and more. At Delmanor Northtown, you can join art classes, chef demonstrations, structured games nights, jewelry making, crafts or knitting groups, current events discussions, organized card games and more.
For social outings, Delmanor Northtown’s bus offers many trips a month, ranging from simple errand runs to seasonal trips such as Stratford to enjoy the theatre or a wine-tasting trip to Niagara-On-The-Lake. “Residents always benefit from connection and purpose,” says Laurie, “We offer so many fulfilling lifestyle options, all available under our roof!”

Regarding its culinary options, Delmanor Northtown prides itself on its talented Red Seal Certified and Sous Chefs, who put great care and detail into the dishes offered. They use fresh and high-quality ingredients while also accommodating diet restrictions and a la carte menu requests. You can expect lunch entrée options like Cilantro and Lime Grilled Shrimp Skewer over a Quinoa and Green salad or a dinner entrée option of Bourbon Baby Back Ribs served with Smashed Red Skin Potatoes and Corn on the Cob. Meals can be enjoyed in the spacious Northtown Dining Room or the Cummer Private Dining Room, which can be booked for special occasions with family and friends.

Built by Tridel, the spacious suites at Delmanor Northtown have all the beautiful finishes you’d expect from high-quality condo spaces. The one or two-bedroom suites have walk-in showers with grab bars, kitchenettes with granite countertops and full-size stainless-steel fridges and microwaves. Many two-bedroom suites include a second bathroom with a bathtub. There are in-suite washers and dryers and individually controlled heat and cooling. Many suites come with balconies or terraces. The spacious bedrooms come with ample closet space, the perfect sanctuary to relax and unwind after a day full of activities.

At the end of my visit, I felt the urge to stay and further discover the charm of Delmanor Northtown. It was clear that this was a place near and dear to its residents and staff. The care and attention to detail were impeccable. Finding a residence that makes you feel this much at home can be hard to come by, but it’s nothing short of magical when you find it.
