“This property was made to be a success,” says Tina Bronzovic, General Manager. “It’s a space that brings people out of their shells.” As I glanced around, I could see exactly what she meant. Residents were catching up with each other in the bistro area or walking towards a daily activity together.
Even in the age of technology, Tina says residents so enjoy Chartwell Waterford that many refer friends, family members and couples by word of mouth. She’s seen couples who have moved in branch out to sit with other couples over meals or activities. “We know that fostering social connection positively impacts people’s health,” she says.

Some other notable amenities at Chartwell Waterford are its spacious dining room, where residents can enjoy three meals a day, and a private dining room that can be booked for special occasions. There is also a movie theatre, a fitness room and a demonstrative kitchen for family gatherings. There’s even a kids’ zone where visiting grandchildren can enjoy browsing books or playing with toys. Residents can also partake in weekly activities such as bingo, walking club, bridge club, socials and themed happy hours.

Another big draw of moving to Chartwell Waterford is that it is right next door to a long-term care facility, making it possible for loved ones with varying levels of need to visit each other. It’s a huge comfort for family members as well. There is also a secure memory-care facility located at the centre of the building with the safety of its residents in mind.
From my visit to Chartwell Waterford, it was evident that the staff and support team made it their business to ensure that their residents’ comfort and care were always prioritized. “We want to ensure that residents are where they need to be to thrive,” says Tina. I would say that they are doing a truly commendable job.
