The most breathtaking view that The Sumach provides can be found on the 9th floor, which features a rooftop terrace, perfect for BBQs and live entertainment, and a stunning garden that is cared for by residents. They’ve even planted specific greenery to attract butterflies and create a butterfly sanctuary. Residents can also grow and tend tropical plants in a separate horticultural room.

I visited during the day, but I could imagine the evening glow of the modern bistro and the spectacular views of Toronto being enjoyed over a glass of wine or a small bite. A private dining space can also be booked adjacent to the bistro.

There is also a games room where one can play billiards or partake in crafts such as needlepoint. The dining room also doubles as space for the building’s group choir, Sumach Sings. The monthly activity calendar ensures that there’s something for everyone, whether it be line-dancing classes, yoga or weekend word puzzles.

There is also en-suite laundry, individual thermostats, and a 24-hour concierge. Most suites come with a balcony so you can take in the stunning views of the city. Did we mention that the building is also pet friendly and right across the street from an off-leash dog park?
Some wellness services at The Sumach include an on-call nurse and the possibility of choosing precisely the level of care you or your loved one needs with additional services such as medication administration or lab services. There is also a chauffeured car available for residents.
